NFMC JR. FESTIVAL

NFMC JR. FESTIVAL Overview

The NFMC Jr. Festival is designed to promote study, stimulate interest in American and World Literature, and encourage each participant to reach a high standard of musical achievement. Students work towards Gold Cup Trophies and monetary scholarships in Solo and/or Ensemble Events. Theory, Sight Reading, and Improvisation testing is also available.

In order to participate, teachers must fill out the Junior Club Membership Application and submit the fee by October 1, 2023

Club Name: This is your studio name or fancy club name of your choosing. You could keep it simple, such as “Burns Piano Studio Club" or choose something fun like "Crescendo Club, Spiritoso Club, 88 Keys Club, Staccato Stars..."

For Festival Area, check Ventura County.

Teachers do not need to apply for Senior Music Club Membership (at the bottom of the application).

For more information about the programs offered, please visit the National Federation of Music Clubs website:

If you'd like to download free music theory test examples look under the "Festivals" tab and scroll down.

Once you are a member you will need to purchase the Federation Festivals Bulletin (their Syllabus). They are $10.00 each and are good for 4 years. Since this Bulletin expires in 2024, Nicole Burns has offered to meet with you in person to help you choose repertoire so you do not have to purchase this soon to be expired Bulletin. You will need to purchase the 2024-2028 Bulletin, once it is available.

The JR 3-8 Festival Student Registration Applications are due to Nicole Burns by Saturday, February 9, 2024
