OUR BRANCH

The Pleasant Valley-Ventura County Branch, an affiliate of the Music Teachers' Association of California, is a dynamic organization of music teachers who operate independently and work collectively.  To qualify for membership, teachers must have a college degree in music (or the equivalent).  This ensures professional status.

Students benefit from studying with teachers who continually increase their knowledge through collaboration with one another. As members of this group, teachers are able to provide unique opportunities for their students such as participation in Branch sponsored festivals, competitions, and scholarship auditions, as well as State sponsored programs such as Certificate of Merit.

The Pleasant Valley-Ventura County Branch complies with FTC Anti-Trust Regulations and abides by the MTAC State Code of Ethics.

BRANCH PIANO

Through a generous donation, the PV-VC MTAC Branch has purchased a Bösendorfer Model 225 piano from Keyboard Concepts. It is in place at the Ventura First United Methodist Church for our Festivals. Students are honored with the opportunity to perform throughout the year on this exquisite instrument.

Model 225 information:  The 7’ 4” Bösendorfer grand has a very wide dynamic sound range which results from its unique design and construction. It can produce many different colors of sound, allowing the pianist to play subtle nuances from the softest Pianissimo to the loudest Fortissimo. The Model 225 has four additional sub-bass keys which not only extends the bass range of the piano to bottom F, but also provides a larger soundboard to help the instrument produce more volume when required to do so.
